My cell phone is making my skin break out. How can I clear it up?

I live across the country from most of my friends and family and my boyfriend just moved away for the summer. I spend about 2 hours a day on the phone, minimum. As a result, one side of my face is covered with acne. Has this happened to anyone else? How can I clear this up?

Clean your cell phone off with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. You're breaking out because the phone is dirty.
Reply:clean the cell phone with alcohol...

are you allergic to nickel ?

are you wearing a protective moisturizer on your face? try puttiing a leather cover..

this might help...happened to my niece..
Reply:I would consider maybe cleaning your phone. You might want to consider getting a hands free device so that your phone is not against your face. It's the combo of sweat and dirt that is making you break out.
Reply:Well, having a cell phone glued to your ear all day can result in the clogged pores that cause irritation, or worse, acne flair ups - a definite downer!

Thas because most people dont make a habit of regularly cleaning their cell phones, so all kinds of germs comes into your face. But, thats no reason to hang up the phone.

Clean and disinfect your cell phone and/or home phone often. Try not to lean the phone against your shoulder if you get acne around your jaw or side of the face. Or get a cheap headset to keep the phone off your face completely.

But for your face, Just keep on cleaning it everyday morning and night with a safe cleanser you trust (Mine is Clean and Clear SOAP) , and if its get worse and stays , go to a skin doctor , he will tell you what to do.
Reply:If you spend that much time on the phone, then the sweat from your skin is staying on the phone itself. Get handi wipes to use on the phone in between phone calls, or at least once an hour. Another suggestion is to get one of those ear devices so you are not touching the phone to your face. If you have a "speaker phone" option, consider using that too.
Reply:I think it is because your phone is dirty when you use it everyday and it gets rubbed onto the side of your face, spreading the many bacteria it already carries. You should probably disinfect your phone (with each use) as much as possible with alcohol or something of the sort to prevent the spread of acne-causing bacteria on you face.

I've personally had acne on the sides of my face as well, and I blame it on the filth oof my cellphone. Try to use an acne clearing product containing benzoyl peroxide to elminate this minor problem. Good luck! And try not to use the phone for that long anymore...
Reply:clean the cell phone.

if that doesn't work, you could be allergic to something the cell phone has in it. Try a diffrent phone.
Reply:I had this happen to me as well. I dealt with this problem for almost a year before putting the pieces together. My dad teased me and called it a sign to stop talking so much. :)

I believe that there are a few of causes for this - heat, bacteria and allergy. I cleaned my old phone several times with lens wipes and this helped some, but it was not enough. I altered the sides I used and it just put acne on the other side. Finally, I switched to an ear piece it slowly went away but not at the pace I wanted.

My next step was using a product from Walmart called Acne Free. It's like generic Proactiv. Once the blemishes went away my skin was clear and has been for six months now.

I have a new phone with a cell phone cover but still use the ear piece.

Good luck to you - may you find your solution and happy talking.
